This territory treasures a beautiful and balanced unity between its wild animal life and vegetation and as a result of the evolution of species, living beings followed different courses in an undetermined moment. However, after millions of years, they are still fully dependent on each other.

Nevertheless, that is not where it all ends. The representatives of the wild animal life timely provide the plant kingdom with abundant waste of an excellent nutritional value. We recommend a visit to the Botanical Garden (the dean of this type of facilities in Cuba) as a complement to admire the wild vegetation to its fullest extent in an area of 97 hectares -seven of which are natural forest reserves- with over 2 000 species of plants that account for 670 genders and 125 families.
