  Culture

Ciego de Ávila displays traditional constructions in which continuous porches predominate and neoclassical columns and creole tiles stand out.
Culture in the region is characterized by deep rooted traditions like those of Majagua annual celebrations, the "parrandas" of Chambas and Punta Alegre, as well as other cultural traditions practiced through the years in the neighborhoods of Jamaica and Baraguá, and the municipality of Venezuela.
Part of its traditions is the church of San Eugenio de la Palma, patron of the city. The province also treasures a theater built in 1927 and which acoustics makes it rank among the first of the country and be a pride for the people of the province.
